Building with Lace
This is an in-depth view of lace knitting of which the end result is a stunning scarf. This class and pattern are a carefully designed sequence of stitch patterns that introduce knitters to lace work starting with the basics and working towards more difficult stitch patterns to make one elegant shawl. This class is designed to build your lace knitting skills so you have the confidence to tackle any lace project. You will learn to read your knitting, knit with beads, learn how to fix your mistakes while knitting in a lace pattern, and so much more. This class will take your knitting skills to the next level.

Class Size Maximum 12 students, Minimum of 5 students required to run the class

Materials Needed Not Included in Class Fee:
We ask that you purchase your yarn from Finnegan’s Run at a 10% discount for in stock yarn
Yarn: 1200 - 1400 yards sport or DK weight yarn. No Fingering Weight Yarn.
Pattern: “Building in Lace” by Michelle Hunter – Book is available in store for a 10% discount
Needles: Appropriate sized needles for yarn choice
Hooks: Appropriate sized crochet hook for cast on
0.05mmcrochet hook or beading needle
Beads: 645, No. 6 seed beads
Beads are added in Section #5 and in the borders. Look for high-quality beads with a consistent barrel opening. Bring your yarn when purchasing the seed beads to ensure that a doubled strand will slip through the bead using the crochet hook. Other: Stich markers standard and locking, darning needle, cable needle, spare fingering weight yarn for a lifeline, colored pencils, 5 yards smooth yarn of a comparable weight, sticky notes or highlighter tape
HOMEWORK: You must create a swatch prior to class. Cast on 50 stitches and knit in stockinette for 5"

We offer small class sizes to ensure that every student gets the help they require. We want everyone to go home feeling confident and successful in the new skills learned.
Required Skills Policy
Please pay special attention to the prerequisites that are listed on each class sheet. Carefully read the skills that are required for each class prior to signing up. Each class is designed to teach a specific technique(s) and not necessarily the skills required to perform the technique. The dedicated class time does not account for teaching the skills on the required skills list. If you have any questions, please contact us and together we will make sure you are ready to get the most out of class.
Class Size Policy
“Learn to” and “First Project” Classes will run without a required class size. All other classes will have a required minimum class size. The minimum class size will be listed in the class description “Class Size.” If this class size is not met by three (3) days before the class start date we will cancel the class, notify the students, and issue a refund.
Refund Policy
Refunds for Prepaid Classes can only be made if we are notified at least two (2) weeks in advance of the first class date. Missed Classes will not be made up unless the Instructor is unable to teach or the shop is closed for inclement weather. No refunds for missed classes.
