“Madeleine” Tee

Madeleine is an elegant top down tee featuring faux broomstick lace stripes and garter stitch edging.  This is a top that you can wear from spring to fall.

Skill Level:           Advanced Beginners to Advanced knitters who have mastered the required skills listed below.

Class:                   Total of 6 hours of instruction over 3 days          

                             Monday Evenings from 5:30pm to 7:30pm

                             May 6th, May 20th, and June 3rd, 2024

Class Size:           Maximum of 8 Students

                              Minimum of 3 Students required to run the class

Skills Required:

  • Confident in Knit & Purl stitch
  • Confident in reading stitches
  • Familiar with reading a pattern
  • At least 16 years of age – for younger students please contact us

Required Materials Not Included in Class Fee:

We ask that you purchase your patterns directly from the designer, so they receive full credit and payment, and bring a printed copy to class.

We are a small business and require you purchase your class yarn from Finnegan's Run, at a 10% discount*.  Other required class supplies may also be purchased at a 10% discount*. 

  • Yarn: DK weight yarn
    • Recommended Yarns: Pattern written for and sample knit in Berroco Spree; Modern Cotton Dk, Baby Vintage, Vintage DK, Elements
    • Finished measurement: Bust: (31¼, 35½, 39, 43¼) [46½, 50¾, 54¼] {58½, 62, 66, 69½} inches
    • Pattern suggests you choose a bust size that is at least 2-4 inches greater than your bust size
    • Berroco Spree (50 grs – 142 yds): (5, 5, 6,6) [7, 7, 8] {9, 9, 10, 11} balls
  • Needle:
    • US 5 with 16 inch cord
    • US 6 with 16 inch cord AND 32 inch cord
    • Or size to obtain gauge 23 stitches and 32 rows = 4 inches
  • Other:
    • Darning needle
    • Stitch markers
    • Waste yarn or Clover stitch holder cord to hold stitches

Homework Required for First Class

  • Bring to the first class some DK or worsted weight yarn from your stash to practice the decorative stitch that is in the yoke and a needle appropriate for the yarn you bring.

Required Skills Policy

Please pay special attention to the prerequisites that are listed on each class sheet.  Carefully read the skills that are required for each class prior to signing up.  Each class is designed to teach a specific technique(s) and not necessarily the skills required to perform the technique.  The dedicated class time does not account for teaching the skills on the required skills list.  If you have any questions, please contact us and together we will make sure you are ready to get the most out of class.

Materials Policy

We are a small business and require you to purchase your class yarn from Finnegan’s Run. 

Class Size Policy

“Learn to” and “First Project” Classes will run without a required class size.  All other classes will have a required minimum class size.  The minimum class size will be listed in the class description “Class Size.”  If this class size is not met by three (3) days before the class start date we will cancel the class, notify the students, and issue a refund. 

Refund Policy

Refunds for Prepaid Classes can only be made if we are notified at least two (2) weeks in advance of the first class date. Missed Classes will not be made up unless the Instructor is unable to teach or the shop is closed for inclement weather. No refunds for missed classes.

Discount Policy

Rewards and promotional discounts cannot be used on the purchase of classes, in other words it does not apply to class instruction fees.  ALL IN-STOCK CLASS SUPPLIES ELIGIBLE FOR 10% DISCOUNT* Excludes special orders, trunk shows, loom rentals, loom purchases
