The Hana Sweater is a beautifully relaxed, everyday pullover that’s all about soft drape and effortless style. Designed by Junko Okamoto with a slightly oversized silhouette and gentle neckline shaping, Hana features a modular construction, meaning we’ll build the sweater piece-by-piece in a thoughtful, approachable sequence. This makes it easier to focus on one section at a time—perfect for learning, refining, and growing your garment-knitting confidence.

One of Hana’s signature design elements is the use of simple, elegant cables that add texture and movement without feeling overwhelming. We’ll guide you through reading cable charts, working cable crosses, and maintaining consistent tension so your stitches look smooth and intentional.

In this class, you will learn and get comfortable doing various different styles of cables. You will learn how to fix your cabling mistakes and to cable with and without a cable needle.

Gauge swatch of 18 stitches and 26 rows in stockinette with a size 7 needle, or appropriate needle size to obtain gauge

Required Skills Policy

Please pay special attention to the prerequisites that are listed on each class sheet. Carefully read the skills that are required for each class prior to signing up. Each class is designed to teach a specific technique(s) and not necessarily the skills required to perform the technique. The dedicated class time does not account for teaching the skills on the required skills list. If you have any questions, please contact us and together we will make sure you are ready to get the most out of class.

Materials Policy

We are a small business and require you to purchase your class yarn from Finnegan’s Run.

Class Size Policy

“Learn to” Classes will run without a required class size. All other classes will have a required minimum class size. The minimum class size will be listed in the class description “Class Size.” If this class size is not met by three (3) days before the class start date we will cancel the class, notify the students, and issue a refund.

Refund Policy

Refunds for Prepaid Classes can only be made if we are notified at least two (2) weeks in advance of the first class date. Missed Classes will not be made up unless the Instructor is unable to teach or the shop is closed for inclement weather. No refunds for missed classes.

Discount Policy
