Beyond Knit & Purl: Reading Patterns
Ever feel like knitting patterns are written in a language all their own? This workshop is designed to help you confidently read and interpret written knitting patterns so you can spend less time wondering what comes next and more time enjoying your knitting.
We'll break down pattern terminology, abbreviations, repeats, stitch counts, and multi-size instructions, focusing on how to understand what the pattern is really asking you to do. You'll learn how to identify key information, follow instructions in the correct sequence, and avoid some of the most common pattern-reading mistakes.
By the end of the class, you'll have the skills and confidence to tackle a wider variety of patterns and approach new projects with greater clarity and assurance.
Skills Learned: Understanding knitting abbreviations and terminology, following repeats, interpreting stitch counts, navigating multi-size instructions, reading pattern structure, and identifying key information needed for successful project completion.
Skills Needed: Basic knitting skills, including knit and purl stitches, and the ability to complete simple projects independently.
