Nordic Bloom Class
Knit the Nordic Bloom by Caitlin Hunter and choose the version that works for you—a sweater or a vest. This beautiful garment combines striking Nordic-inspired colorwork with an opportunity to build your sweater-knitting skills and tackle one of knitting’s most intimidating techniques: steeking!
We’ll begin with choosing your size, understanding ease, checking gauge, and selecting colors with enough contrast to make the Nordic Bloom motif stand out. As we work through the colorwork, you’ll learn to read the chart, manage multiple colors, maintain even tension, manage your floats, and understand color dominance.
Then comes the fun part—steeking! Rather than working back and forth through the colorwork, the garment is knit in the round and then cut to create the openings. We’ll walk through the entire process together, including preparing and reinforcing your steek, making the cut, and finishing the steek so you can approach the technique with confidence.
Along the way, we’ll also cover garment construction, shaping, fit, and finishing techniques to bring everything together.
Choose the sweater or the vest and join us for a project that will stretch your knitting skills, take some of the mystery out of stranded colorwork and steeking, and leave you with a beautiful Nordic Bloom to wear.
