Beyond Knit & Purl: Reading Charts
Have you ever skipped a pattern because it included a chart? This workshop is designed to take the mystery out of knitting charts and help you read them with confidence. You'll learn how to follow chart symbols, track repeats, and translate visual instructions into the stitches on your needles.
Through hands-on practice, we'll explore how charts and knitted fabric reflect one another, making it easier to recognize stitch patterns, keep your place, and identify mistakes before they become major headaches. By understanding how charts are organized and why designers use them, you'll gain a valuable skill that opens the door to a wider variety of knitting patterns.
Whether you're new to charts or looking to build confidence with them, this class will give you the tools you need to make charts a useful part of your knitting toolkit.
Skills Learned: Reading chart symbols, tracking repeats, recognizing stitch patterns in your fabric, following charted instructions, and using charts for lace, texture, and colorwork patterns.
Skills Needed: Comfortable with knit and purl stitches and able to work basic knitting projects independently.
